Terms and Conditions

You are required to accurately describe the size and weight of the shipment, as our fees are based on this information. In the event that your description proves to be inaccurate, we may charge you the applicable fees based on the actual size / weight of the shipment.

You must provide us with the complete and correct shipping address, as well as the name and contact information of the recipient. You are responsible for any additional costs or delays that may arise from errors or omissions in this information.

You must provide us with all the information and declarations of value necessary for any customs, administrative, health or other authority. You are liable for any additional costs or damages resulting from false, erroneous or divergent statements.

We do not accept any item that is prohibited by law from being transported, or that is insufficiently or improperly prepared for regular transportation, given the nature of the item. You are responsible for any additional costs (including fines or penalties) or damage that we may suffer due to the accidental acceptance of an item that is not accepted.

We cannot be held liable for the loss or damage of any items.

All shipments are insured by Courier RS but shall not exceed the lesser of $1.50 per pound or $50.00. If the shipper wishes to add insurance during order placement, an additional charge equal to $4.50 per $100, will be applied. The amount to be insured can not exceed the value of $1000 for a fee of $45.00.

Courier RS cannot insure the following items under any circumstances: tenders, antiques, currency, precious metals or stones, glass or glassware, ceramics, household goods, travelers cheques, works of art, liquor, wine, spirits, tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, stocks, bonds, certificates, bullion, money orders, stamps, jewellery, watches, cashier’s cheques, plants, liquids, perishables, furs.

All computer, electronic goods and the like must be in original manufacturer’s packaging to be able to qualify for additional insurance and unless packaging is damaged in transit and so noted upon delivery. Claims made on shipments signed for in good order will not be processed.

Notice of loss or damage must be given to Courier RS within twenty-four (24) hours after such loss or damage becomes known and in writing within ten (10) days after the order was placed. Courier RS will accept no liability for loss or damage unless written notice of such loss or damage is received within ten days after the order was placed.

If you do not have an account, you must pay the shipping costs at the time the order is placed or when the driver arrives. We only accept credit card, or debit card.

If you have an account, you must pay shipping charges upon receipt of invoice. Our invoices are generated on a weekly basis. For customers with an account, we accept electronic payment, credit card Visa and MasterCard or cheque.

Where payment for a shipment(s) has not been received within 30 days of invoice, Courier RS has the option of applying an interest fee on the overdue balance. Overdue balances are subject to interest calculated at 2% per month, which shall accrue and be payable to Courier RS on all outstanding balances.

We reserve the right to use agents and/or subcontractors to provide our services.

We may, in order to expedite the delivery of a shipment, substitute another carrier, without changing the nature and terms of this contract.

We are not liable for any damages, unreasonable delays, or other problems resulting from events beyond our control, including: a fire, explosion, flood, blizzard, ice storm, earthquake, epidemic, or other natural disaster; nuclear, chemical or biological contamination; a riot, a crime (including cybercrime), a strike, a power outage, water outage, telecommunications or network failure, or any other failure of a utility provider; any law or measure taken by a government or public authority, including travel ban.
